Speakers’ Spotlight: Niranjani Manoharan
It is few days until we finally meet in person. But before that, we invite you to e-meet Niranjani Manoharan 🙂
Niranjani is a Senior Software Engineer in Test at Lyft. She is responsible for developing test automation solutions for the Android platform. She has 8 years of experience and has worked at companies like eBay, Twitter and Pinterest in a similar role. She’s passionate about code and product quality and gets involved in efforts to improve test processes and solutions.
She loves traveling, hiking and reading books. She has traveled to Russia and Canada earlier this year. Currently reading “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah.
Interviewer: What is your personal definition of QA and testing in the light of today’s?
Niranjani: Quality is adding value to an object and this object could be a product or anything. Testing is a way to achieve the best version of the product.
Interviewer: How was the last 12 months? What worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
Niranjani: In the past year, my company’s goal was to achieve 100% automation and we moved from monthly to weekly releases to the app store. So, it was very challenging to go through this rigorous phase. But we finally achieved it, so felt very rewarding. Also I switched jobs recently so looking forward to new challenges.
Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in the coming years? What are your career aspirations?
Niranjani: I see myself transitioning into a managerial role in the next couple of years.
Interviewer: What will you be talking about at Quest for Quality?
Niranjani: I will be talking about improving CI/CD pipeline – the various challenges one will face while trying to setup/optimize. Challenges in terms of testing framework and build/deployment strategies.
Interviewer: What inspired you to attend?
Niranjani: Having lived in the Silicon Valley, I wanted to explore talent in the European Technology Hub i.e Dublin! I have heard very good things about Quest for Quality conference and look forward to
Interviewer: Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?
Niranjani: I read blogs posted by Ministry of Testing and listen to their podcasts as well. Am also part of Women in Testing group, which consists of very smart women testers from all around the world.
Interviewer: How can people find out more about what you are working on?
Niranjani: I either tweet about it or post articles on LinkedIn/Medium.
